Kevin Pisano
After purchasing a home in the San Fernando Valley, Kathie and I looked for a church closer to our home at which to worship. We found our new church home at Shepherd of the Hills Church (SOTH), Porter Ranch, CA, where I began to serve by leading a Bible Study group in my home, participating in the Men’s Ministry and serving as a teacher at the Men’s Encounter Retreats. As a response to leading these activities, I began to indentify a call to vocational pastoral ministry. In 2005, I began my educational journey at Eternity Bible College. Working to support a family and attending Bible College has proved to be a difficult task, but I am due to graduate in Spring 2011. After serving for six years as a volunteer staff member of SOTH, I was invited to become a full-time licensed vocational Pastor in January 2007. I have been serving as a Life Groups Pastor, overseeing 78 small groups consisting of approximately 800 members, leading Men’s Ministries and enjoy ministering to and counseling with people using the Bible. I have a deep passion to reach un-churched young adults through evangelism and helping them to grow in the Lord through discipleship. Kathie and I have been married for ten awesome years and have four children between the ages of 2-9. There is never a dull moment in the Pisano home. I am very excited to serve at South Valley Church, the congregation where I found and planted my Christian faith. |

OUR TEAM |

I began attending FBC Newhall (now South Valley Church) in 1998, after being invited a number of times by my girlfriend Kathie Barclay. Having not grown up in church, my response to Kathie went something like this, “Why would I want to go to church?” Her persistence finally won me over and I agreed to endure a one-hour worship service. After my initial visit to FBC Newhall, I left MAD. I was convinced that Kathie told Pastor Bill Leathem a bunch of bad things about me. I soon came to realize that it was the Spirit of God speaking to me through Pastor Bill’s preaching. On December 6, 1998, I devoted my life to the Lord Jesus Christ and began my Christian journey.
